Hi there, and thanks so much for creating for me! I love all the fandoms/pairings below dearly, and would be delighted to receive gifts for any of them. I'm really easy to please and omnivorous in taste, so please don't feel beholden to the prompts below -- they're merely suggestions, and the most important thing here is that you have fun. Feel free to wander off into alternate territories or pursue that plot-bunny/concept you've been obsessed with, as long as you respect DNWs. I'm most interested in what excites you.

I can be found at [tumblr.com profile] meikuree on Tumblr and [archiveofourown.org profile] meikuree on AO3. Don't be afraid to leave an anon comment if you need to check on something. Treats are welcome, including for mediums I didn't request, aside from those mentioned in DNWs, and including late or very late ones.

General Likes
  • gen, f/f, fic and art of all ratings
  • nuanced, intense, or unconventional relationships between women
    • relationships ambiguous or difficult to define
    • love or loyalty, mingled with resentment, etc. complex feelings in general!
    • codependency, manipulation, (inverted) power dynamics
  • pre-canon, post-canon, canon-divergence AUs
  • worldbuilding, character studies, missing scenes, hurt/comfort, silly concepts played straight, crack treated seriously
  • hopeful/melancholic moods, second and third person POV, 5+1 times (and similar), unusual prose styles or structures (e.g., non-linear narratives, interview formats, epistolary, etc.)
  • friendship, established relationships, dilemmas, worldview clashes, physical intimacy, reunions
  • confrontations, emotional repression, unhealthy coping mechanisms
  • dreams, liminal places, hauntings, fractured identities, surrealism, magical realism, absurdism
  • history, negotiations with heritage and legacy, endurance, beauty amidst bleakness and cruelty, ruins and remnants of what came before
  • unique canon settings/moods, cultural/setting/sensory details, curiosity and wonderment
  • tragedy, loss, grief/mourning; stories about being unable to return somewhere; stories about living with loss
  • psychological/existential horror; body horror, close and unsentimental descriptions of pain, pain as an axis for transformation or self-knowledge, the weirdness of having a body
  • phone calls, autumn/winter, natural imagery, water bodies, hair-washing, everyday streets, mundane actions
  • subversions of utopias or dystopias
  • monstrosity, monstrous women, meetings with the unknown or alien
My requests usually focus on canon, but I'm open to AUs with distinctive settings or unconventional stakes. Coffeeshop or high school/college AUs are usually too mundane for me, for instance, but AUs with historical, apocalypse, sci-fi, “polar scientist meets selkie” premises, etc. are good. Ironically, I'm also fond of grad school AUs. If it’s useful inspiration, I’m always down to see Revolutionary Girl Utena or Locked Tomb AUs; I love seeing how these canons can intersect with other ones.

Feel free to mix and match prompts in the same fandom. In some places, I've opted into mediums that are hard to squeeze shippiness or romance into (for / pairings), to which I say: don't worry, and go wild; I don't need the shippy content to be explicit. I'm also happy to have any / pairings written as their pre-relationship or & versions. I'm fine with major character death if your story needs it.

Fandoms/Requests

Arcane: League of Legends (Cartoon 2021)

Jinx & Vi
Jinx/Vi

Jinx and Vi's complicated relationship was catnip for me, pure and simple. I'd genuinely be happy to read anything character-centric, or about things like Jinx's complex towards her sister, and hurt/(no) comfort scenarios where they try to reconcile but some misunderstanding or irreversible circumstance pushes them apart, etc. For exchange purposes, feel free to treat Jinx as synonymous with Powder, and write about scenes from Act I.
  • In Act I, Powder injuring herself from a bomb or explosive, and Vi tending to her. Alternatively: Vi having one of her chats about Powder being ready -- what did that look like? Was it in response to another event or, perhaps, a mental block Powder was grappling with?
  • Ekko hears news about Vi through his own sources, and relates them over the years to Jinx. How does Jinx respond? How does her view of her sister warp over these encounters? Does she take her frustrations out in destructive ways, inventing explosives that are pointedly inspired by Vi? I love Ekko as well, so feel free to give him a bigger role.
  • A past vs. present look at places Jinx fondly frequented in her childhood with Vi, versus the bitter memories they now hold for her after her sister's departure.
  • Journal/notebook excerpts: Jinx's sketches and schematics, the research she does (Jinx as a serious, competent engineer is something I'd love to see!), inventions she made to impress Vi, or notes Vi wrote in her prison days to be sent to Jinx one day. I've always found Vi's line that 'the only thing that kept me going was the thought of getting back to you' affecting, even just as a basic point about how closely the sisters must have depended on each other in their childhoods.
  • In-universe interviews: officials or wardens interviewing Vi in the aftermath of the Season 1 ending about her sister, and misunderstanding/failing to grasp at the heart of their complicated history.
  • A Softer World panels: a bittersweet meditation on lost chances, kinship, etc. in this format would fit these two so well. Feel free to incorporate panels of other Arcane characters or buildings.

Sevika/Vi

These two duke it out in a boxing ring for a bet, Vi comes limping to Sevika after being hurt by Jinx and Sevika patches her up while hiding her from Silco, Sevika doing it out of some ambivalent, lingering remorse over what she did to Vi's adoptive father... or casefic somehow, quest-inspired if you wish, where these two have to fix the aftermath of Jinx's attack on Piltover somehow while snarking at each other. Character studies would be lovely: these two have their similarities, with their fierce loyalty to others and brand of gritty pragmatism. It'd be interesting to see how they could appreciate some of those qualities in each other, even as they remain staunch and bitter enemies!
  • In-universe interview: once again, an interview in the aftermath of Season 1's events could be great, with Sevika being tight-lipped and gruff about the sisters. Perhaps she clued onto some of the inevitability of what happened; perhaps she's tired, and constantly intimidates her interrogators. Feel free to mix it up and write an interview series where Jinx, Vi, and Sevika all get interviewed separately.
  • Character analysis: I'd love anything about Sevika herself or Sevika as she relates to Vi (and vice versa); what about a comparison of their fighting styles in that one scene? A commentary on motifs, loyalty, the language of brutality, and so on... any lens you want to tune onto these two would be great!
  • Kinky ideas: misuse of Sevika's robot arm (does it have a vibration function?) and Shimmer.

Medium Opt-ins:

  • Art: Fanart, Tarot Card, Comics
  • Writing: Character Analysis, Excerpts from a Character's Journal/Notebook, Meta, Non-Linear Narrative, In-Universe Interview
  • Unique Rules: A Softer World style panels
Fandom-specific DNW(s): Jinx/Silco. Jinx & Silco is fine.

Dragon Age

Leliana/Morrigan

I haven't finished playing Inquisition, so I apologise for any canon missteps here! Leliana and Morrigan are one of my all-time beloved ships; I love the ways they appear to contrast each other but resemble each other more closely, at the root, than either of them would care to admit. They're both purpose-driven, clued into visions and the trajectory of the world, and skilled shapeshifters in their own ways: for Morrigan, literally, and for Leliana, among people and high society, with her history as a bard.

Feel free to give me snark, petty bickering, talks outside the stables or after quests late at night under the stars, or other exploits from Ferelden to Orlais (maybe Morrigan travelled or met up with Leliana again after Origins?). Humour's great too: Leliana singing an ill and unamused Morrigan to sleep (I thought this was a funny image!), Leliana comforting Morrigan about Flemeth or her complex parental legacy/heritage, and Morrigan snubbing Leliana’s war table decisions or role in the Inquisition (to Leliana’s inexplicable annoyance) would all be excellent. (On this note, I have no preference for Warden or Inquisitor profiles!)

Yes, also, to situations that allow their reluctant familiarity or history to show through. Perhaps Leliana overworks herself and comes down sick, and Morrigan happens to be the only person at Skyhold who knows the exact esoteric permutation of elfroot tea (… or something) needed to cure her. Or Morrigan puts her to bed and lingers for some reason while ribbing at Leliana. Feel free to write something grittier if you prefer: aftermaths of quests gone wrong, torture, broken bones, Morrigan needing to carry a fallen Leliana.
  • Tarot cards with crow vs. raven imagery, fire vs. the cold night, etc.
  • For explicit art (if you're inclined), I enjoy these things: breast touching, body worship, or just these two embracing.
  • Pretending to be married or together while undercover on a bardic mission.
  • Spell or ritual instructions: Morrigan jotting notes on a spell related to the Eluvians or other aspect of Old God magic, with Leliana butting in in the margins/notes somehow... go wild! But feel free to also write spell instructions that hint at a story -- perhaps of Morrigan trying to put a small hex on Leliana, or making up something to meet/trace her whereabouts but hesitating with going through with it.
  • Song lyrics: Leliana's expertise! I wonder if she's written any songs about her lost loves, with a certain swamp witch featuring somehow...

Opt-ins:
  • 500 minimum words per fic
  • Any Nominated Writing Medium
  • Any Nominated Illustrated Text Medium
  • Any Nominated Art Medium Medium
  • Poetry: Free Verse, Ballad, Original Song Lyrics, In-Universe Prayer, Narrative Poem
  • Spell or Ritual Instructions
  • Unique Rules: Interactive Fiction - Web-based choice-based IF not hosted on AO3

Fandom-specific DNW(s):
  • Pro-Templar views on the level of the narrative (characters expressing them is fine).
  • References to Morrigan's pregnancy are fine, though I'd prefer you avoid the specific details of the ritual if possible.

Disco Elysium

My 'go wild' fandom. This game has a vast, sprawling amount of lore, and many hidden worldbuilding corners to get lost in... I loved so many of the NPCs I met, and this is one game where I can safely say that they were just as interesting as our main characters. I love the moments of warmth that are present in Revachol's bleak and harsh world, the Eastern European-inspired setting, the quiet endurance of people making the best of their difficult lives amidst so much chaos and upheaval and ugliness, and in sum: I'd be overjoyed to see more of anything, from humour to casefic to character studies and more.

Prose in your own style, canon pastiche, or a mix is fine by me. Give me found poetry created from in-game dialogue or text; I'll love it. If it's relevant, I'd slightly prefer a Communist or politically neutral Harry, and I usually play him as someone trying to get sober. I'm open to sympathetic takes on Kim and Jean et al. that remain cop-critical. Background Harry/Kim is welcome.

Solo: Novelty Dicemaker

The Novelty Dicemaker/Neha was one of my favourite NPCs. Her observation about the world's widespread precarity -- that businesses fail not because of a curse, but because of the reality of the world we live in -- touched and humbled me. There's a warmth to her, still, and I adore the poetry of a dicemaker hiding out in a chimney, looking over the streets from her window as she works at her craft, ekeing out a quiet living for herself.
  • Draw or tell me about any of the designs she's done for other dice: perhaps her first customer, or dice she's made for other NPCs (Steban & Ulixes come to mind as likely TTRPG players, for some reason).
  • A touch of magical realism: tell me about how Neha imbues her dice with their mysterious reroll powers. Perhaps there's a ritual or process she goes through to 'bless' each die somehow?
  • Her response to Kim & Harry bringing her the news of the 2mm 'hole in the world' -- how does she reconcile that with her previous beliefs? Does she find a way to stay optimistic or pragmatic, still?
  • Just any observations about an average day in Revachol through Neha's eyes -- maybe she notices things about Cuno and Cunonesse nobody else does, is privy to Cindy's artistic ambitions, etc.

Solo: Any NPC

Giving lots of latitude here, because I'm just so sorely fascinated by the people Harry & Kim ran into, and how rich their backstories (and tragedies, mostly) are. I'm down for tongue-in-cheek r/AITA posts, meetings between people who could have crossed paths, articles featuring canon events or other unusual moments, a so-bad-it's-good punk screenplay put on by Fuck the World and Pissf****t, tiresome bureaucratic paperwork filed by Harry's precinct... anything! The only NPCs I absolutely don't want to see featured are the mercernaries (references to canon events are fine); I'm OK with the Deserter, the nationalists, and Evrart Claire appearing if their POVs aren't the main focus.

Some ideas:
  • r/AITA posts popping up from Garte and other NPCs after Harry's weekend bender, or an r/relationships saga for Jean and his prickly porcupine-y feelings on Harry... the sky's the limit! Nonsensical, highly downvoted (or not?) posts or accidental dank memes from the Extremely Wealthy like Joyce Messier.
  • Snippets of POVs from NPCs like The Pig, one of Tommy Le Homme's poems, characters trying to find a book in Plaisance's bookshop... feel free to mix and match multiple characters' POVs in one piece.
  • Soona: there are hints she and Neha knew each other while Soona was programming for the failed game studio. Maybe they meet and talk about their crafts, plus the not-at-all ominous hole in the world? Alternatively, Soona and Kim, a meeting of two thinly-concealed nerds... let them yak about the commonalities between cars and computers together! (Somewhere the wishful part of me is also shouting: Ruby and Soona, please.)
  • Lilienne! I loved her, would go wild for anything about her: overseeing the village, or heck, being introduced to the anodic dance kids' newfangled music. For art: a peaceful day out at sea or picnic with Harry and Kim, perhaps?
  • Dolores Dei: down for cosmic or folk horror here, with the unearthly and occasional 'malevolent deity' impressions she gives off. An alternative view of Innocentic history, written from the perspective of those colonised (a la the subaltern speaking back, if you're inclined!) in her crusades, academic treatises on the ambivalent status of her iconography...
  • Steban and Ulixes: I'm fond of these well-meaning Communist nerds. Maybe they take Kim & Harry's advice to heart and finally amass a meeting with more than four people.
  • Cuno: this kid was a delight. A picnic with our detectives, or a happier post-canon ending for him and Cunonesse?
  • Ruby: she lives and returns, finds some closure with the Hardie Gang before moving on, she and Harry get to chat in a less tensed context...
  • Portraits of mythopoetically adequate moments, whimsical musings, small pockets of warmth between NPCs... "In the dark times, should the stars also go out?" and so on.
  • Meta or analysis of a character of your choice!

Harry du Bois & Kim Kitsuragi

I'm an unimaginative slug, so I apologise for this unhelpful request: I'd love anything. Epistolary fic, excerpts from Kim's journal, a look at how Kim maintains his professionalism through his thought process, an inventory-esque list of Kim's personal artefacts... Kim humouring Harry in his adventures to become an Art Cop! Both of them getting those dance moves on. Where Kim got his uneasy but keen consciousness for empathy from (that quest where Harry has to break difficult news to Billie Méjean comes to mind). Character studies.
  • An in-universe 'Dear Creator' letter could be hilarious. Maybe they get assigned to solve dead cases. Or make a present for the other. Or they have to team up to create something for Cuno, of all people.
  • Psychological evaluation reports: perhaps on Harry's return to the precinct, with observations about how his time in Revachol and time working with Kim has changed him.
  • List of things Harry is not allowed to do: free real estate for these two. Perhaps Harry retaliates with a list of his own for his secretly beloved binoclard.
  • In-universe RPF: not a 'real person', apologies, but Dick Mullen comes to mind... what if Harry pens fanfiction, and Kim finds it, scoffs, and secretly pens fanfiction of a vastly different genre/style?

WB: Any
WB: The Pale
WB: Revachol

More of that "be vigilant, I love you" sequence, a roving Shivers-style look at Revachol's inhabitants from Revachol's perspective herself, other abandoned Revacholite buildings... there's so much history there. Restaurant reviews of the Whirling-in-Rags, before and after Harry wreaks havoc with his bender. Costume or item designs you wished were in the game. In-universe pop cultural media. Overall, I'm in love with the atmosphere, setting, and sense of history in this game, so anything you want to lean into is great: mysterious places, events, unspoken pasts and futures.

For The Pale, I'm curious about other strange occurrences, perhaps visions of alternate universes coming to visit our characters, or creepy Dolores Dei/Pale worshippers, how the hell do those pilots shoot through this terrifying cloudy soup of dreamstorm anyway...

Other ideas: a look at other continents (where Dora lives, places Ruby might've fled to), the Homosexual Underground. Cryptids! The Phasmid photo spreading around and the resultant buzz. What other events has the Phasmid seen? The Thought Cabinet and Skills are full of potential, and I'd love to see them applied to other characters; what skills might someone like Kim, Ruby, or Jean have? What thoughts did Kim process throughout the murder mystery goose chase? Similarly to how Harry realises his Skills can blindside him during his conversation with Klaasje, I'd be curious if other characters have limits/blindspots with theirs.

That mood towards the end of the game when certain characters seem to know their time is up, the shops are closed up, and others are waiting, lingering around for the Conclusion... I'd love it if you wanted to dwell in that limbo more in art or fic, or show me how characters are passing the time.

  • Poetry: Free Verse, In-Universe Poetry

Fandom-specific DNWs/clarifications:

Jujutsu Kaisen (Manga)

Zenin Mai & Zenin Maki
Zenin Mai/Zenin Maki

Yin/yang motifs, the poetic cinema of dying the same way you were born (by your sister's side, in the water), the inherent homoeroticism of your sister being your first love... these two hurt my heart in the best way. Give me relationship studies, canon-divergent AUs, bitter breakups, snapshots of their lives in the Zenin house... anything! Anything about their love and complicated devotion to each other.
  • Advice column: Mai writes in to Takada-chan or to a column with responses read secretly by Maki. Does Mai ever get pushed to admit her feelings to Maki?
  • Found documents, a catalogue of personal artefacts in Mai and Maki's rooms; Maki looking through Mai's belongings after 149, perhaps. Alternative formats that hint at their lives in the Zenin house!
  • Epistolary: unsent letters, a history of Mai's emotions in her first term or year in Kyoto. When does Mai figure out that she might have to sacrifice herself one day? Why does she hesitate with telling Maki?
  • In-universe interviews: Maki's interview with Yaga for admission into Jujutsu High (my headcanon: Mai is her core motivation), or an interview with Mai after the Exchange Event, where she admits she loves her sister in ways she can't tell her?
  • Parental motifs: people have noted the parallels between Maki and Ougi, and Mai and the twins' mother; they're terrible parents, but I'd love your own take on how the twins relate to/see their parents, or more broadly, the ambivalences of their heritage.
  • Maki meeting Mai in her dreams, processing her grief; Mai-sword conversations (?) and shenanigans.
  • Art ideas: Maki sleeping with her sword, talking to the sword, haunted imagery, the Lovers (for tarot cards).
  • Kinky ideas: dream sex, hiltfucking, painplay, misuse of cursed techniques. It's not canon-compliant, but I've always thought Mai's technique had potential for painplay, if she could construct things inside people's bodies or manipulate their cells/flesh somehow.
  • Revolutionary Girl Utena AUs, with Mai as a Black Rose duellist.

Opt-ins:
  • 500 minimum words per fic
  • Any In-Universe Documents

  • Writing: Advice Column, Any Type of Essay, Epistolary, Diary Entry, In-Universe Interview, Interactive Fiction (AO3 style Choose Your Own Adventure), Non-Linear Narrative
  • Unique Rules: Interactive Fiction - Web-based choice-based IF not hosted on AO3

Fandom-specific DNWs:
  • Naoya being featured prominently.
  • Unrequested M/F involving Mai or Maki.

The Locked Tomb Series - Tamsyn Muir

Harrowhark Nonagesimus/The Body | Alecto | The Girl in the Tomb

I love the wistful devotion Harrow shows towards The Body and her mysterious but somehow permissive grace; the way she shows up in some of Harrow's darkest and loneliest moments as a beacon of gentleness, the intimate reverence with which Harrow refers to her as 'beloved'. Feel free to explore meetings between the Body and Harrow within echoing hallways and in-between moments on the Mithraeum. I imagine Harrow might be the one actively approaching her, but I'd welcome a Body of ambiguous or malevolent temperament, who might possess her own designs and direct Harrow to merciful -- or dubious ends.

Some ideas: sexual fantasies or outright weird sex (with the Body steering Harrow, perhaps?). But I'd also love tender premises, like: the Body carrying Harrow to bed after she's passed out, Harrow praying to the Body in moments of distress and her appearing, or a history of the guises in which the Body has come to comfort Harrow since childhood (over her parents, Gideon, etc).

Harrowhark Nonagesimus/Ianthe Tridentarius

Harrow and Ianthe share such a delicious tension, and I'd be overjoyed to see anything showcasing their complicated dynamic; beyond the wonderful lesbian psychological torture in canon, they have their capacities for prickly -- but genuine! -- kindness with each other, and I'd welcome moments exploring those slippery threads of care and distance, neither tender nor cruel; the revelation that they're perhaps sometimes just two [Mercymorn voice] children fumbling in the dark of a hostile situation together. Or go full darkness (death or dubcon), if you like. <3
  • r/AITA or r/relationships posts for the soup scene, that failed kiss Ianthe tried on Harrow, and more!
  • Bed-sharing moments on the Mithraeum, in response to Harrow’s fear over Ortus’s attacks.
  • Found documents, more of Harrow's letters, excerpts of Ianthe's observations about Harrow... mission reports penned from an outsider POV like Mercymorn's, who truly does not understand these children, just because her unamusement would tickle me.
  • Ianthe writes fanfiction of herself and Harrow. Harrow is not amused.
  • Ianthe pining, and comforting herself with childhood cannibalism habits or depraved necromancy.
  • Necromancy used for sexual, or comforting purposes: breathplay via squeezing on the veins or aorta, slowing each other's heartbeats, etc.
  • More of that funky ballroom AU!
  • A far-future AU where both are matured lyctors and they might have unique hurt/comfort rituals, visits to each other, or self-aware indulgences in tropey situations like there was only one bed on other planets, and so on. (For the record, I do love Gideon! Feel free to slip in hints that she's still hanging around.)
  • Harrow and Ianthe comforting each other through homesickness (planet-sickness?): giving each other House mementos, or recounting childhood memories to each other. Or: kinking on House titles during comfort sex.
  • Ianthe looking for Harrow after HtN; the feeling of having the rug pulled from under you when your little bone witch is now an absent presence in your heart.

Camilla Hect & Palamedes Sextus
Camilla Hect/Palamedes Sextus

I have to admit it, that indirect hand kiss in the Nona the Ninth previews charmed me. But even before then, these two have had a freight tank's worth of loyalty kink packed into them. I haven't had time to come up with good prompts, but tell me about their relationship: Camilla's grief and devotion, bodysharing shenanigans, a perfect lyctorhood AU, life on that BoE planet in Nona the Ninth. Or mundane moments on Planet Academia where they might've trained, shared rooms, etc. More hand kisses, understated promises, their steadfast rapport. Camilla communicating with Pal through diary entries. Happier moments, the relief of Palamedes surviving, and how they managed to achieve that bodysharing situation. Casual physical intimacy.

Art ideas: Camilla with Pal-Skull! Funny meetings with other characters like Harrow or Ianthe. Drawings of their room or the layout of buildings on the Sixth House. Something funky playing on eye colours. Or anything you'd love to write about/create; I'm chill. <3

Coronabeth Tridentarius & Ianthe Tridentarius
Coronabeth Tridentarius/Ianthe Tridentarius

Codependency, that messed up moment your sister didn't choose you (again, r/AITA could be gold, with other houses going WTF at Third House weirdness), spinning out the aftermath of "Babs? Who cares about Babs?" and so on. I've read As Yet Unsent so feel free to work in the reveal of Coronabeth's hidden neediness, or all the ways she's the worse twin. I'm so fascinated by how Coronabeth is Ianthe's berserk button too. I'm absolutely not picky here, and I'd love anything from childhood reminiscences, to bitter post-canon meetups, or scathing and mocking exchanges where there's hints of reluctant affection still. An off-the-wall idea: Harrow getting assigned to create for both twins (they come as a matched set) in a necromantic exchange, oof.

Kinky ideas, if you swing that way: power plays in bed, praise kinks, Coronabeth trying to shower Ianthe with all the attention she isn't getting, knifeplay as a demonstration of Coronabeth's worthiness of cavalierhood.

WB: Any
WB: Dream Bubbles
WB: The River

Embarrassingly, I nominated the last two tags, but have no intelligent thoughts about them... just, feel free to take this as the chance to create the Locked Tomb content you've always wanted to. I mean that Any tag. If you want pointers, I'm fascinated by the Resurrection Beasts (sketches or in-universe iconography, yesss), gender relations in cav/necro pairings and genderfluidity, and also the dream bubbles' relationship to death, how they allow those departed to come together again, the idea that those people aren't necessarily gone forever. I also just like the idea of seeing other dream bubbles, how differently they'd look from person to person; a story told entirely in dream bubbles morphing in and out, perhaps. Go ahead and work in the not-so-thinly-veiled Homestuck allusions, ha.

The River: show me why it's so fucked up! Angry spirits, creepy waters, an academic publication from Abigail Pent (written comfortably from the afterlife) about what she learned from that battle with the Sleeper. Laughably bad in-universe attempts to map the River's extent. Training manuals for Cohort officers about the River, featuring John’s offbeat comments. Ianthe's interests in liminal places intersecting with her dips into the River, and more.

But again, go wild. I'd love to see what's been tickling your brain about The Locked Tomb's worldbuilding.

Mononoke-hime | Princess Mononoke

Probably my favourite Ghibli film. I feel deeply for its explorations of monstrosity, darkness, rebirth, death, and the majesty of the forest, and I like how most characters are flawed but nuanced. There aren't true heroes or villains, in the traditional sense; by the end everyone's left reckoning in kind with upheaval and irreversible changes to the world they knew. I'd prefer genfic, but feel free to bring in background relationships and side characters. (If you happen to want to write some prickly Eboshi/San, go for it, though I'd prefer that San be aged up, and the same goes for background Ashitaka/San.)

I'm open to mild to moderate body horror in this canon if you want to go for a darker tone; there's lots of undertapped potential there, with the aspect of curses warping animal gods and bodies. Maybe a new sickness or curse ravages the land, and Eboshi and San have to begrudgingly team up to figure out what's happening, with an ambiguous ending?

Solo: Eboshi

  • Backstory: how she met and bought up the contracts of brothel girls, or saved the lepers. According to some bonus content, she began as an indentured slave for pirates, but I'm totally open to different takes.
  • Eboshi appears to have forged herself into a mythical figure of sorts among the inhabitants of Irontown; what tales might have been told about her, inside and outside the town?
  • Interactions/fireplace chats with Ashitaka about Emishi culture, versus Eboshi's industrialist modernity.
  • Missing scenes of Eboshi overseeing and tending to the women in Irontown/Tataraba; a slice of everyday scenes in Irontown, before or after the film's events.
  • Post-canon: negotiations or uneasy truces with San; rebuilding the Irontown fortress; Eboshi adapting to her injury, with the Irontown women helping her. Does she feel remorse, however understated, about what she did?
  • Her design seems partly inspired by female samurai; feel free to bring in historical motifs.
  • For tarot card designs: The Tower seems like it might suit Eboshi, but feel free to choose other cards!

Solo: San

  • A picture of her life with Moro or her wolf siblings; hunting or resting with them, stargazing, and so on.
  • Crossroads of any kind: a moment she has to trust Eboshi, or leave Moro, etc.
  • How she relates to the other inhabitants of the forest; when did she learn about the Great Forest Spirit, and how does she perceive him? Moro telling San about other spirits, perhaps (boar, or wolf, or an entirely new one?)
  • Something set years after the ending; how has San reckoned with her mother's death and the fate of the forest? Does San work to help the forest heal, somehow?
  • Reunions with Ashitaka; if she meets Eboshi again, can they share a moment, however tense, about what they lost, and the obligation to look forward?
  • Wood vs. fire imagery in art with San and Eboshi; wolf motifs, obviously! Go wild.
Opt-ins:
  • 500 minimum words per fic
  • Any In-Universe Documents
  • Art: Fanart, Comics, Tarot Card, Pixel Art
  • Writing: Meta, Character Analysis, Non-Linear Narrative

Fandom-specific DNWs/clarifications:
  • Explicit M/F sex; porn without plot.
  • Per my parasites/bug swarms DNW, mentioning curses in writing is fine, though I'd prefer they be depicted figuratively in art.

Shingeki no Kyojin | Attack on Titan

Solo: Pieck Finger

Pieck's a beloved character and also highly underelaborated in canon, so anything delving into her backstory or slice-of-life-ish, with or without her comrades, would be gold as far as I’m concerned. What pushed her to join the Warrior programme, after her father fell ill? Was that a true story, or a ruse told to Eren? Or: perceptions of her titan within and without Marley, casual monstrosity, walking the moral tightrope of being a Warrior, the aftermath of her offbeat crawling-on-all-fours humour (perhaps told through documentation)! I'm not picky, and I'll love anything you think up for her. <3

I'm intrigued by her hidden capacity for ruthlessness too, the way she turns endurance into a weapon and is willing to breach her limits to get the task done (citation: that scene where she keeps transforming to fight off Eren's puppets). Pain as a threshold she seems content to ignore, though she's not numbed to it. Body horror, or the psychological horror of becoming a weapon and controlling your titan like a machine: feel free to play in that sandbox.

Pieck embodies some pretty interesting contradictions: she's clear-sighted about the Eldians' predicament, has foresight, and reads people well enough to predict what they'll do, but also possesses a fatalistic streak offset mainly by her connections to others. She sometimes doesn't do anything concrete with her epiphanies, though this is likely out of a desire for carefulness more than anything. More than anything she reminds me of Lauren Berlant's idea of cruel optimism: the things she nurtures and desires (to support her comrades) might work to further her plight. And yet she owns her choices, in the manner of someone who's thought through and accepted her moral compromises. Her simple, human wishes warp into something monstrous in her structural circumstances within Marley, and that dissonance intrigues me.

So these are vague cotton-candy words, but I'd adore anything that explores or perhaps draws in these ambiguities to her, whether it's introspection or small 'p' plots: exploring basements/rooms in the Marley barracks, snapshots of canon events. (If it's... useful... have some incredibly half-baked and clunkily written meta here. Oh god.) Feel free to go full experimental instead: something about her dreams or nightmares as a titan shifter, a roving out-of-body look at her life experiences.

Solo: Hange Zoë

Sorry for how late this section is! … Real life snuck up on me, unfortunately. If you’ve already started something, please go ahead with it by all means, and don’t scrap or change it on account of this late entry; I’d love to see it. If you want direction: I’d love any looks at Hange’s Survey Corps days at any point, from when they started as a trainee to their reluctant promotion to Commander. Or vignettes of them dealing with politics, them skillfully navigating minefields with the wall cult then the Yeagerists. Feel free to bring in their camaraderie with their comrades or small moments, little conversations that are more pivotal than they appear on the surface; I’ll love it. Hange’s one of my favorites, so what I really mean is: go wild! You can’t go wrong with them. Feel free to give me experimental formats too, in scientific journals or mission reports for any of the canon events.

Hitch Dreyse/Annie Leonhart

Fellow assholes with jaded but secret hearts of idealism, Hitch's girlish whimsies, the homoeroticism of self-aware hypocrisy or something... that roommate you never gelled with but find yourself missing once she's encased in crystal six feet below. Unethical flouting of MP rules. So many things to explore! I find the unexpected trust and confidence they place in each other during the Rumbling arc to be incredibly compelling, and I'd welcome a closer look at canon moments they shared.
  • Forced proximity during their Trainee or Military Police days: winter training, or being sent on errands and investigations to town.
  • Hitch's visits to Annie in the crystal: how often did she come, and why? Would love more on those tirades she apparently shared with Annie! Some of the ways Hitch helped Annie survive that lonely and disconnected time in the basement; Annie perhaps overhearing gossip she has no business to from other soldiers/visitors and inferring things about Hitch.
  • In-universe documents: paperwork filed by Hitch to convince her superiors that Annie isn't a threat, down in the basement, or to be assigned leave to watch over her; reports on how Annie is doing. Hitch's journal entries!
  • Literal sleeping together or spent-the-night-together missing scenes during the Rumbling.
  • Post-canon: might the situation have calmed down enough for them to stoke the beginnings of a relationship? I'm open to snark and banter, or clashes between Annie's pragmatic view of the world state and Hitch's... MP-ness.

Pieck Finger/Annie Leonhart

The rarepair of my heart -- I'd die for anything of these two. Feel free to kick canon timelines to the curb and set up AUs where Annie never went to Paradis or returned instead of taking a crystal sabbatical.

They're both titan shifters; what about Pieck helping Annie with any side effects of being a shifter? Pieck struggles with numbness, but I imagine Annie could have problems with neck soreness, constant hand injuries, or exhaustion from overexerting her limits/not being as skilled at endurance as Pieck is.

A look at their lives as Warriors before Annie left for Paradis would be great too. Tell me about how they met, or trained, and whether Annie might've respected Pieck in her own way. They're both clear-eyed about their predicaments as Warriors, but respond differently; how might Pieck's resigned optimism bounce off Annie's cynicism and latent idealism?

An AU where Annie returns to Marley from Paradis: I'd be interested in the overhanging issue of her 13-year term. Do shifters experience any side effects as they near the end of their 13-year timeline? Does Annie allow Pieck to help her with hers, or try to hide them? I don't mind major character death, if you want to include it!

Other ideas:
  • What if Pieck was the one who helped Annie learn crystallisation, thanks to her skill in endurance?
  • Annie's estranged relationship with her father, Pieck talking to her about her own relationship with her father.
  • Nightmares, insomnia, unspoken midnight comfort.
  • Post-canon, Pieck helping Annie with post-crystal recovery, numbness, and other frustrations.
  • Post-canon catch-ups, painful secrets revealed through late night talks, drinking sessions.
  • Kinky ideas: sensation play, painplay (they're both regenerating supersoldiers!), finger sucking, rough post-training or sparring sex.

Pieck Finger/Yelena

Thick subtext (well, not really, but I'm putting on my wishful goggles), sniping banter and weirdly flirtatious mocking... the messy/chaotic dynamics and minefield of unsaid things between these two are ripe for some revealing excavation. Yelena becomes an egregious extremist in later chapters, and I'm totally open to Yeagerist-critical portrayals of her, or content that just avoids those later arcs. My self-indulgent take is that they were confidantes before the three-year time skip, bonding over anti-Marley sentiments and harbouring a strange, unnameable attraction to each other.
  • Pieck coming to Yelena after getting injured: maybe a battle gone wrong, the aftermath of an anti-titan strike; maybe she intentionally suppresses her regeneration to prove a point to Yelena about what Warriors endure? Is Pieck actually severely injured, or is it a pretext to be close to Yelena?
  • Casual non-sexual intimacy, one of them falling asleep on the other's shoulder after a long day, a trying event (a difficult battle; trouble over Porco inheriting his titan; absence of news on Annie’s fate), or a near-death experience. I'd be interested in Yelena's response: does she grudgingly relent?
  • Pieck's veneer of calmness cracking in response to the death of someone in the Panzer squad, reminiscence over Paradis, medical experimentation/abuse, her role in Marley's military missions, and Yelena's response.
  • Spy AU where they're undercover and Pieck takes a bullet or other injury for Yelena, leading to some mad rush for Yelena to treat her before she bleeds out. Feel free to work in analogues to shifting abilities for this.
  • The Locked Tomb AU, with Pieck as the cav to Yelena’s necro, and Pieck’s obligations of loyalty to Yelena being used to hurt her, etc.
  • Pieck and Yelena end up assigned to the same mission together, and get trapped in something similar to those titan containment spaces at the Liberio festival while Pieck is injured -- how do they get out? Alternatively, feel free to write Yelena rescuing Pieck.
  • Kinky ideas: breathplay, Yelena taking advantage of Pieck's neck sensitivity, under-negotiated kink, dubious consent, sex as a distraction from problems, 'fuck or die' situations.

Pieck Finger/Hange Zoë

I find Hange’s breathless curiosity over Pieck’s shifter biology adorable, but I also love their unlikely similarities and points of convergence, the fact that these two were willing to set aside personal grievances to work together for the sake of the bigger picture. Beneath the comedy in the Rumbling chapters, I think they orbit similar valencies of seriousness and thoughtfulness about the world, as people highly dedicated to their comrades, and I’d also welcome any scenarios where that or their mutual competence(s) shine through.

Quick sidenote: I'm fine with she/her or they/them pronouns for Hange.
  • In-universe documents: (failed) experiment records or excerpts of Hange's observations about the Cart Titan. What unique traits is Hange interested in? What hypotheses does Hange come up with to explain why the Cart Titan looks so different?
  • An AU where Hange comes across an injured Pieck in the woods/wilderness on Paradis, and decides to bring her back to base to treat her. Bonus things: Hange's unique knowledge of titan biology coming in useful somehow, or Hange struggling with the dilemma of helping an enemy.
  • Mid-Rumbling interactions set in the moments after the alliance makes it up the ship, with Hange attending to the bite wound Falco gave Pieck.
  • Tentative demonstrations of trust: Hange draping their jacket around Pieck, Hange going out of their way to use their medical knowledge to patch Pieck up.
  • Difficult conversations about their allies and prickly history, while Hange is treating Pieck's wounds.
  • Post-canon or mid-Rumbling, Hange trying to comfort a grieving Pieck about her commander.

Opt-ins:
  • Any In-Universe Documents
  • Art: Fanart, Fanart Cover/Illustration of Recipient's Fic (here), Pixel Art
  • Writing: Meta, Non-Linear Narrative, Excerpts from a Character's Journal/Notebook, Fic Remix of my Fic (here), Fic Remix of my Art (here), Interactive Fiction (AO3 style Choose Your Own Adventure)
  • Unique Rules: Interactive Fiction - Web-based choice-based IF not hosted on AO3

Fandom-specific DNWs:
  • Levi/Hange. Levi & Hange is fine.
  • Unrequested M/F pairings (parents and background pairings are fine; influential M&F relationships in canon, such as Annie's mentor-mentee relationship with Eren, or Pieck and Yelena's links to Zeke, are fine)

Squid Game

Jiyeong/Kang Saebyeok

I love Jiyeong and Saebyeok's contrasts and knife-twisting commonalities, revealed so subtly during their game of marbles. Jiyeong comes off cocky/boisterous next to the more subdued and distrustful Saebyeok, but her devil-may-care facade hides someone who's been thoroughly failed by the system, just like Saebyeok. I'm sorely invested in the way they managed to get across new perspectives to each other on their situations, under the constraints of such a cruel game -- essentially, how they changed each other's worldviews. I'm open to AUs where only one survives, where the lasting impact of the other person is explored.

Some ideas: Saebyeok gets injured (e.g., from a brawl, tussle, or other sticky situation), maybe on her hands, and then has to be tended to by Jiyeong (at home, or elsewhere). Saebyeok is driven by the deep fear of vulnerability or becoming indebted to others -- a completely justified survival mechanism in her situation -- but how does she grapple with this when injured? Does Jiyeong perhaps also try to communicate (through the comfort) that vulnerability isn’t a flaw and won’t lead to her being taken advantage of?

More broadly, Jiyeong and Saebyeok are the definition of "earn your happy ending", so I'd be down for fics exploring their post-canon road to recovery.
  • Jiyeong introducing Saebyeok to more wonders of media or pop culture. (Has she heard of K-Pop? Does Jiyeong find her a band she likes?)
  • Post-canon, Jiyeong or Saebyeok dealing with nightmares and the lingering effects of the games, and comforting each other in the night or otherwise.
  • Meetings with Kang Cheol, Saebyeok's brother; a picnic with him, or some kind of treat with him.
  • How they deal with and try to bring closure to other contestants' deaths.
  • For a lighter scenario: comfort via cooking for each other; nobody came for Jiyeong when she left prison, which I imagine might privately be a big deal (since it's a South Korean tradition for family members to bring tofu to someone leaving prison) -- might Saebyeok make some halting but earnest attempt to reassure her about that?
  • If you'd rather write something set during the games themselves: tense, late night introspective conversations! Secrets revealed to each other in the fold of darkness, after any of the rounds. Jiyeong patching up her injuries (somehow!), after her near-brush with death during Deoksu’s attacks. Or an AU where the marbles game was averted but the overall Squid Game continued, where Jiyeong finds Saebyeok after the round in the toilets and they have impulsive, charged "we almost died" makeouts? Or something!
  • A Softer World panels: lines about missed chances, fate, the injustice of meeting a cute girl and saving her with your last breath. Or something more light-hearted -- remix to your heart's desire!
  • Art ideas: cuddles, watching films together, chilling with Saebyeok's brother! Or a portrait of both of them together.
  • Tarot card wise, The Fool could fit Jiyeong, and Strength could fit Saebyeok, but I'm totally down for other interpretations.

Solo: Jiyeong
  • Character studies, backstories, meditations on freeing yourself of abusive family... I'm down for it all.
  • I've entertained the thought that Jiyeong might enjoy (or rather, find personal relevance in) the film Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. Bouncing off this: tell me about her favourite western films, literally Western-genre or not, or beloved pieces of media.
  • How did she come to join the games? Was it a spur of the moment decision? I felt deeply for her when she implied she had nowhere to go.
  • If she survives, does she meet Saebyeok's brother? How might they both get closure?
  • Jiyeong finding support after the games somehow, perhaps in an old teacher; little steps she takes to reassume control of her life. (On that note: you don't have to explain the world state, who lives and who dies, etc. to me if you want to write a fix-it!)
Opt-ins:
  • 500 minimum words per fic

  • Writing: Any Type of Essay, Non-Linear Narrative, Interactive Fiction (AO3 style Choose Your Own Adventure)
  • Unique Rules: A Softer World style panels, Interactive Fiction - Web-based choice-based IF not hosted on AO3

Fandom-specific DNW(s)/clarifications:
  • North Americanised settings.
  • Canon-typical references to Jiyeong's past sexual abuse are fine, though I'd be grateful if you avoid dwelling on the specific details.
