I love very emotionally intense or character-driven sex. I love fraughtness as much as characters exploring a kink just 'because', or kink that sheds light on new aspects of relationship dynamics. One of my earliest incest ships! I can't quite get over how adoring Bethany is of Hawke in Act I, with their affectionate banter, and the subsequent angst and separation when Bethany gets sent to the Circle or joins the Grey Wardens. I'd love any in-between moments, post-canon looks, Fade surrealism, or a quiet respite between the two of them. Or playing with any canon-divergent AUs in general! Porn and worldview shifts with them navigating the consequences of Hawke's actions would be welcome. How does Hawke's relationship with Bethany affect her (political) decisions and vice versa? The Fury sisters! I love their camaraderie, the way they collectively go "fuck u Zag" and how they're all so different but work together; they each have lots of spunk and I'd adore anything about their tensions, affection, and bonds in general.

Megaera/Nyx

Saw this in the tagset and was intrigued, instant heart eyes from me. I don't mind Nyx being either Meg's foster or "birth" mother, whatever that means for the chthonic gods. What intrigues me is how much Meg respects Nyx despite famously being mean to everyone else. There's in-game dialogue where Nyx tells Nyx not to let her relationships with Zagreus or such get in the way of her duties, and I was struck by that -- Meg seemed deferential afterwards, but the conversation had underlying tones of power imbalances there. To be clear, I'm all down for that. Feel free to delve into the ambivalences, rifts, or darker parts of their relationship if you want.

Zenin Mai/Zenin Maki

Yin/yang motifs, the poetic cinema of dying the same way you were born (by your sister's side, in the water), the inherent homoeroticism of your sister being your first love... these two hurt my heart in the best way. Give me relationship studies, bitter breakups, snapshots of their lives in the Zenin house... anything! Anything about their love and complicated devotion to each other.

• AUs where Mai survives, and things get better—or worse?
• Found documents, a catalogue of personal artefacts in Mai and Maki's rooms; Maki looking through Mai's belongings after 149, perhaps. Alternative formats that hint at their lives in the Zenin house!

This is a crack pairing motivated by those pages where the twins' mother reports to Naoya about Maki's fate in the Shibuya incident, and she seems like his only (highly reluctant) friend. But honestly, I'm down for the genderbent version here, and I think there could be something erotic about an aunt-in-law and the arrogant niece she has to begrudgingly mentor. I'm cool if you handwave Zenin clan gender politics and keep Naoya as the de facto heir (or so he thinks) or write about Naoya needing to crossdress as a son to keep up appearances, etc.

Zenin Mai/Zenin Mai and Maki's Mother

Going to be upfront: my prompts for this pairing are deranged and likely fall under several umbrellas of dirtybadwrong, but if you already have something else in mind, please go ahead; I'd love to see it! Maki's matricide has simply given me a craving for deep dives into her dynamic with her mother. I'm intrigued by Maki's unresolved issues and lack of closure for her relationship with her mother, and simply imagine that Mai probably went through a similarly tumultuous relationship with her. (Feel free to bring in Maki; Mai/Maki/their mother would be welcome if you're considering it.)

I'm down for darker themes, including but not limited to abuses/imbalances of power from their mother, springing out of the Zenin clan's repressive and claustrophobic environment.

Prompts below were written for both Mai/her mother and Maki/her mother, but feel free to disregard whatever's not relevant. You can also read on for my rambling if you want more details on what I think about their dynamic.

• Mother-daughter dubcon, in either direction; canon-divergent AUs where Maki leaves, and her mother is driven to seek comfort in her due to grief or the general stress of, uh, being a woman in the Zenin clan.

Given what we know of the Zenin clan, I think it wouldn’t be a stretch to  imagine that the twins’ mother was isolated in a ‘lonely at the top’ way, with a… husband like Zenin Ougi… and imo she could’ve projected her unmet needs onto her daughters, particularly Mai (who is more similar to her in mannerisms, style, and dress, though not necessarily in deference; Mai’s a snarker).

At the same time there’s the compelling thread of how, despite resenting the twins, she’s also bound inescapably to them by blood; there are hints she wields political influence, at least in the shadowy form, with how she advised Naoya in ch. 138, but she’s held back by them.

There’s a possible element of her envying the twins’ freedom from the clan’s social mores, while refusing to acknowledge that to herself. If you subscribe to the idea that she’s in a loveless marriage: she could be jealous of the twins’ affection for each other! And lash out by trying to undermine their love.

Some notes for what I'm obsessed with in these pairings: simmering generational pain and rage expressed and filtered in unhealthy/dysfunctional ways, the horror of motherhood being folded into their relationships, the inability for the twins’ mother to relate to her daughters and show them love and care at all, the reversal of parent-child dynamics, etc. Mai or Maki tolerating a certain amount of boundary-breaking behaviour or dubcon/noncon from her, because it's the only time she's vulnerable or loving.

I've read the book, so feel free to combine elements from that. Personally, my favourite Adora/Camille scenes in the book are Camille's weirdly erotic dream about her mother visiting her in bed then kissing her, and the one where Camille dreams about her mother cutting her body open.

I've read As Yet Unsent so feel free to work in the reveal of Coronabeth's hidden neediness, or all the ways she's the worse twin. I'm down for anything about their twisted dynamic. Some ideas: Ianthe being subtly jealous of Coronabeth's affection for other cavaliers (Gideon, Judith, et al.), an AU where Coronabeth does get to be Ianthe's cavalier, an AU where Coronabeth doesn't betray BoE and sticks to her guns and they remain bitter enemies in an inter-galactic conflict...

Kinky ideas, if you swing that way: power plays in bed, praise kinks, Coronabeth trying to shower Ianthe with all the attention she isn't getting, knifeplay as a demonstration of Coronabeth's worthiness of cavalierhood. • Ianthe gets arranged to marry another necromancer (Harrow, perhaps). Coronabeth gets jealous.

• A 5+1 times style study of (twisted) birthdays they've celebrated over the years. Creepy or messed up variants of their "fuck, kill, reanimate" games. Or various times Coronabeth's been mistaken for Ianthe's partner/girlfriend, and vice versa.

• A look at Third House rituals they've done, from the bizarre to ostentatious to downright weird; ritual sex even, where they've been asked to consummate their bond or mark the anniversary of their House's founding (or something...) in front of their peers, parents, anything.

• Alternatively, the Ninth House is obsessed with preservation and entombment, the veiling away of the past; what if the Third House is obsessed with gaudy opulence and the appearance of liveliness even in death? I'm thinking Ianthe having to use flesh magic to build/add on to corpses and a young Coronabeth trying to help her.

Gideon Nav/Wake

I'm SO fascinated by how much Wake abhors the work of being a mother and sees Gideon Nav as a means to an end; I'm just intrigued by the possibilities in this! Antagonistic meetings, Wake's ghost haunts Gideon and everyone, or Gideon Nav being raised in the Blood of Eden groups instead -- I'm open to your take.

Love the gradual claustrophobia of this book, the atmosphere, the Gothic house, its creepy sugary darkness, and the intense happy codependency between these sisters. I'm fine with a fusion with The Haunting of Hill House, the other iconic Shirley Jackson book, or AUs with magical realism, sci-fi, surrealism, other added horror elements, and so on. I'd just be excited to read anything that spends more time with these two!

• Closeness that neither realises is outside of the bounds of normal sisterly affection.
• Constance's perspective of any scenes, or the aftermath. Or an AU where Constance ventures outside, indirectly or not, but still gets drawn into an obsessive claustrophobic life with Merricat.

So: I'd love anything that dwells on this motif further! Anything like the blurring of boundaries between mother/sister (or wife? haha) in Merricat's perception of Constance.
