Fandom 5K Exchange Letter 2023
Apr. 3rd, 2023 12:22 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
Due to time constraints I’ve written simpler prompts in some places, but that's only because I had more thoughts for some ships, or unhinged Discord conversations with friends to poach from. I’m fine with major character death, graphic violence, and unhappy or ambiguous endings if your gift needs it.
Treats (of any medium) are welcome, including late ones!

NSFW Likes
I love very emotionally intense or character-driven sex. I love fraughtness as much as characters exploring a kink just 'because', or kink that sheds light on new aspects of relationship dynamics. I also enjoy sex as a way to process trauma or intimate interface for embodiment, complicated histories/dynamics, and more. I'm cool with noncon, past sexual assault being referenced or sex needing to stop because of old wounds/trauma, for instance.
Most of all, I'm great with vanilla sex (fingering, oral, penetrative, grinding), but I'm also very into Liminal and Weird Sex, such as dreamsharing, sex you can't be sure is happening, sex where the script changes because you're applying it to a monster/eldritch horror, or symbolic/metaphorical sex (e.g., sex as apotheosis), and so much more.
- character study via porn
- choking or breathplay
- clothing kinks, clothed sex
- abuse of authority, dom/sub undertones
- dubious consent (of any kind, e.g., due to power imbalances, identity issues, "fuck or die" scenarios, sex pollen, altered mental states, etc.)
- finger sucking
- oral sex and/or fingering
- first times, loss of virginity
- focus on hands, wrists, necks
- friends/enemies with benefits
- bad/awkward sex (either funny or depressing), talking during sex
- emotional sex, hair-pulling, under-negotiated kink, characters kneeling
- edging, meandering sex, sex that may not revolve around orgasms
- gentle/caring or reverent sex
- gunplay, knifeplay, (mis)use of magic
- painplay, consensual pain/violence (especially if characters get off on it)
- sexual fantasies and masturbation
- sex described in unconventional ways (preferably in line with the tone of canon)
- erotic body horror; sex that reads mildly or a lot like body horror due to things like disorientation, power imbalances or interpersonal fuckery, dissociation, embodiment issues, or in-universe reasons
General DNWs
- corrective rape/noncon; unaroused victims
- explicit underage sex under 18; unrequested M/F sex/noncon and M/F incest
- pregnancy (unless canon)
- genderswap; prominent focus on gender identity headcanons (genderplay, genderfuckery, and ambiguous situations with bodysharing characters are fine)
- bestiality
- bugs/bug infestations, snails, parasites (unless canon)
- mundane AUs (e.g. coffeeshop, high school AUs)
- soulmate/reincarnation AUs
- extensive descriptions of weight gain/loss; forced feeding, mentions of calories
- scat, emetophilia, watersports, age/race/petplay, breeding kinks, cervical penetration, food kinks, weight gain/stuffing kinks, spanking, A/B/O
- genital mutilation or torture

Klaasje Amandou & Revachol
Klaasje Amandou/Revachol
Saw this in the tagset and went, oh, yes. I loved things like the Shivers monologues and more from Klaasje's perspective would be great, but let your imagination run free: conversations, cosmic horror, poisoned love letters (interpreted liberally) from Klaasje to Revachol? Klaasje doing things to feel close to Revachol or to just feel something? Lonely walks out upon the rainy streets at night? Vignettes or visions from The Pale, about broken dreams or alternate lives? Maps, borders, territories. What would fake dating or being in a no-strings-attached relationship with a city be like? What would cityfucking be like, conceptually or not? Revachol's been through much tragedy and bloodshed, and Klaasje's a person marked by regrets and hang-ups herself too. I'm curious about themes and commonalities they could share (on a narrative- and character-level).
Fandom-specific DNWs/clarifications:
- Focus on the mercernaries (references to canon events is fine).
- Focus on the Deserter, Evrart Claire, or the nationalist faction.
- Per my M/F sex DNW: canon-typical references to Klaasje's night with Ellis Kortenaer are fine, but I'd be grateful if you avoid on-screen depictions.
呪術廻戦 | Jujutsu Kaisen (Manga)
Zenin Mai & Zenin Maki
Zenin Mai/Zenin Maki
Yin/yang motifs, the poetic cinema of dying the same way you were born (by your sister's side, in the water), the inherent homoeroticism of your sister being your first love... these two hurt my heart in the best way. Give me relationship studies, bitter breakups, snapshots of their lives in the Zenin house... anything! Anything about their love and complicated devotion to each other.
- AUs where Mai survives, and things get better—or worse?
- Found documents, a catalogue of personal artefacts in Mai and Maki's rooms; Maki looking through Mai's belongings after 149, perhaps. Alternative formats that hint at their lives in the Zenin house!
- Epistolary: unsent letters, a history of Mai's emotions in her first term or year in Kyoto. When does Mai figure out that she might have to sacrifice herself one day? Why does she hesitate with telling Maki?
- Maki meeting Mai in her dreams, processing her grief; Mai-sword conversations (?) and shenanigans.
- Kinky ideas: gunplay or gunfucking, dream sex, bathtub sex (amniotic fluid imagery and metaphors, perhaps?), misuse of cursed techniques.
- Revolutionary Girl Utena AUs, with Mai as a Black Rose duellist.
Zenin Maki & Zenin Mai and Maki’s Mother
Zenin Mai & Zenin Mai and Maki’s Mother
I’m down for musings on mother-daughter relationships of any flavour, of your choice, from the bittersweet to angry to dark. Was the twins’ mother consistently aloof and distant, or did she have moments of warmth? Did she govern their upbringings closely (from food to education to sleeping), or were the twins’ interactions with her characterized by repulsion, the rareness of contact? How did she respond to the clan's perception of the twins -- did she internalise their status as failures as her own failure too? What did she think of Maki joining the Kukuru squad or Mai also leaving for a technical school? Did she consider rebelling against the clan’s strictures at any point? I'd love any perspectives from the twins about their mother too. Or feel free to write about other directions.
Feel free to set the fic at any point in canon or in canon-divergent AUs, and touch on the twins' thoughts about their mother after the massacre, during the culling games, in a post-canon scene, etc.
Zenin Mai/Zenin Mai and Maki’s Mother
Going to be upfront: my prompts for these pairings are deranged and likely fall under several umbrellas of dirtybadwrong, but if you already have something else in mind, please go ahead; I'd love to see it! Maki's matricide has simply given me a craving for deep dives into the twins' dynamics with their mother. I'm intrigued by Maki's unresolved issues and lack of closure for her relationship with her mother, and simply imagine that Mai probably went through a similarly tumultuous relationship with her. (Mai/Maki/their mother would be welcome if you're considering it.)
I'm down for darker themes, including but not limited to abuses/imbalances of power from their mother, springing out of the Zenin clan's repressive and claustrophobic environment.
If you're just here for prompts, you can stop after the bullet points! But you can also read on for my rambling if you want more details on what I think about their dynamic.
- Mother-daughter dubcon, in either direction; canon-divergent AUs where Mai stays although Maki leaves, and her mother is driven to seek comfort in her due to grief or the general stress of, uh, being a woman in the Zenin clan.
- Period sex (for Mai), finger sucking, misuses of ceremonies and grand occasions for sex, with or without dubcon.
- The twins' mother forming a bond with Mai or using her as a pawn to piss off their father.
- "Educational" sex, Mai involuntarily losing her virginity to their mother under the guise of her mother trying to teach her about what to expect... Mai feeling conflicted afterwards, especially if she'd wanted to do it with Maki instead.
- AUs where Mai or Maki return home from the technical schools, and having to reckon with the threat (indirect or not) of their mother.
- AU where Maki leaves her mother alive, and they deal afterwards (or not) with their grief and complicated feelings over Mai's death.
At the same time there’s the compelling thread of how, despite resenting the twins, she’s also bound inescapably to them by blood; there are hints she wields political influence, at least in the shadowy form, with how she advised Naoya in ch. 138, but she’s held back by them.
There’s a possible element of her envying the twins’ freedom from the clan’s social mores, while refusing to acknowledge that to herself. If you subscribe to the idea that she’s in a loveless marriage: she could be jealous of the twins’ affection for each other! And lash out by trying to undermine their love.
Some notes for what I'm obsessed with in these pairings: simmering generational pain and rage expressed and filtered in unhealthy/dysfunctional ways, the horror of motherhood being folded into their relationships, the inability for the twins’ mother to relate to her daughters and show them love and care at all, the reversal of parent-child dynamics, etc. Mai or Maki tolerating a certain amount of boundary-breaking behaviour or dubcon/noncon from her, because it's the only time she's vulnerable or loving.
Fandom-specific DNWs/clarifications:
- Humiliation kinks.
- M/F involving Mai or Maki.
- "Characters are unrelated" AUs.
- Per my bugs DNW: bug-like curses are fine to describe.
- Per my explicit underage sex DNW: explicit underage sex < 18 is fine if characters are at least 15.
Mononoke-hime | Princess Mononoke
Eboshi/San
My favourite Ghibli film! I feel deeply for its explorations of monstrosity, darkness, rebirth, death, and the majesty of the forest, and I like how Eboshi and San are flawed but nuanced; neither's a straightforward hero or villain. My prompt for Eboshi/San is simple: I'd love explorations of their clashing worldviews and tensions, or crossroads between them (canon or post-canon, e.g., unexpected mercy). But if you want to go in a mellower or different direction, that's great too.
I'm open to mild to moderate body horror in this canon if you want to go for a darker tone; there's lots of undertapped potential there, with the aspect of curses warping animal gods and bodies. Maybe a new sickness or curse ravages the land, and Eboshi and San have to begrudgingly team up to figure out what's happening, with an ambiguous ending?
Other optional prompts:
- Ambiguous corruptions, or -- in line with the film's ending -- changes and reluctant interminglings that are irreversible; Eboshi dubconning San in the forest (i.e., San's assumed place of protection and power) and San grappling with complicated feelings about that and not being sure what it means for her own ideals, whether she's compromised them, etc.
- Perhaps, as San grows up, her childishness gets sanded off, but not the ferocity of her commitments; does she get fiercer and less amenable to domestication as she ages? I'd love to see her holding her own against Eboshi as she grows into her own as a leader, set against a backdrop of the political conflicts that may result.
- This is a darker idea, but I was thinking about cannibalism: specifically, what it means that San sees herself as a part of the forest, and whether she'd regard Eboshi hunting and eating one of the forest-folk as an act tantamount to this (i.e., Eboshi just ate one of her kin). What'd the fallout be like?
- Ambiguous or conflictual interactions in general, yes please. Hatesex or enemies with benefits situations where San takes furtive trips to Tataraba? Great.
- Duels between them, 5+1 style or not. It doesn't have to be physical; it could be emotional, political, verbal, etc.
Character: Eboshi
- Backstory: how she met and bought up the contracts of brothel girls, or saved the lepers. According to some bonus content, she began as an indentured slave for pirates, but I'm totally open to different takes.
- Eboshi appears to have forged herself into a mythical figure of sorts among the inhabitants of Irontown; what tales might have been told about her, inside and outside the town?
- Interactions/fireplace chats with Ashitaka about Emishi culture, versus Eboshi's industrialist modernity.
- Missing scenes of Eboshi overseeing and tending to the women in Irontown/Tataraba; a slice of everyday scenes in Irontown, before or after the film's events.
- Post-canon: negotiations or uneasy truces with San; rebuilding the Irontown fortress; Eboshi adapting to her injury, with the Irontown women helping her. Does she feel remorse, however understated, about what she did?
- Her design seems partly inspired by female samurai; feel free to bring in historical motifs.
Character: San
- A picture of her life with Moro or her wolf siblings; hunting or resting with them, stargazing, and so on.
- Crossroads of any kind: a moment she has to trust Eboshi, or leave Moro, etc.
- How she relates to the other inhabitants of the forest; when did she learn about the Great Forest Spirit, and how does she perceive him? Moro telling San about other spirits, perhaps (boar, or wolf, or an entirely new one?)
- Something set years after the ending; how has San reckoned with her mother's death and the fate of the forest? Does San work to help the forest heal, somehow?
- Reunions with Ashitaka; if she meets Eboshi again, can they share a moment, however tense, about what they lost, and the obligation to look forward?
- Wood vs. fire imagery with San and Eboshi; wolf motifs, obviously! Go wild.
- Please age San up for romantic/sexual interactions to be at least 18.
- Per my parasites/bugs DNW, mentioning curses in writing is fine.
Shingeki no Kyojin | Attack on Titan
This isn't compulsory, just an opt-in: I've written a couple of fics for this fandom, so if you feel like doing remixes or recursive writing based on any of my works (here and here), I'd be thrilled. I ramble a lot here, but I'm always down to read you and what compels you about these pairings!
Character: Pieck Finger
Pieck's a beloved character and also highly underelaborated in canon, so anything delving into her backstory or slice-of-life-ish, with or without her comrades, would be gold as far as I’m concerned. What pushed her to join the Warrior programme, after her father fell ill? Was that a true story, or a ruse told to Eren? Or: perceptions of her titan within and without Marley, casual monstrosity, walking the moral tightrope of being a Warrior, the aftermath of her offbeat crawling-on-all-fours humour (perhaps told through documentation)! I'm not picky, and I'll love anything you think up for her. <3
I'm intrigued by her hidden capacity for ruthlessness too, the way she turns endurance into a weapon and is willing to breach her limits to get the task done (citation: that scene where she keeps transforming to fight off Eren's puppets). Pain as a threshold she seems content to ignore, though she's not numbed to it. Body horror, or the psychological horror of becoming a weapon and controlling your titan like a machine: feel free to play in that sandbox.
Pieck embodies some pretty interesting contradictions: she's clear-sighted about the Eldians' predicament, has foresight, and reads people well enough to predict what they'll do, but also possesses a fatalistic streak offset mainly by her connections to others. She sometimes doesn't do anything concrete with her epiphanies, though this is likely out of a desire for carefulness more than anything. More than anything she reminds me of Lauren Berlant's idea of cruel optimism: the things she nurtures and desires (to support her comrades) might work to further her plight. And yet she owns her choices, in the manner of someone who's thought through and accepted her moral compromises. Her simple, human wishes warp into something monstrous in her structural circumstances within Marley, and that dissonance intrigues me.
So these are vague cotton-candy words, but I'd adore anything that explores or perhaps draws in these ambiguities to her, whether it's introspection or small 'p' plots: exploring basements/rooms in the Marley barracks, snapshots of canon events. (If it's... useful... have some incredibly half-baked and clunkily written meta here. Oh god.) Feel free to go full experimental instead: something about her dreams or nightmares as a titan shifter, a roving out-of-body look at her life experiences.
Character: Hange Zoë
Hange’s one of my favorites, so please go wild -- you can’t go wrong with them! I’d love backstory or any looks at Hange’s Survey Corps days at any point, from when they started as a trainee to their reluctant promotion to Commander. Or vignettes of them dealing with politics, them skillfully navigating minefields with the wall cult then the Yeagerists. Or post-canon AUs where they survive and negotiate with changes in their vision/ideals change after the Rumbling? Feel free to bring in their camaraderie with their comrades or small moments, little conversations that are more pivotal than they appear on the surface; I’ll love it. Feel free to give me experimental formats too, in scientific journals or mission reports for any of the canon events.
Hange Zoë & Eren Yeager
Hange Zoë & Annie Leonhart
Hange Zoë & Eren Yeager & Annie Leonhart
I love mentor/mentee relationships and I'd love to see Hange interacting with her two titan shifter proteges, working to figure out the mystery of the titans and getting a side dose of unlikely camaraderie (or not?). Hange's one of the few people in the series who makes any attempt to mentor Eren, having experienced and learned to manage bouts of anger similar to his in the past. Have at it and have fun! Feel free to give me canon-divergent AUs and anything that shines a deeper light on these people's interactions.
Hange Zoë & Erwin Smith
Levi/Erwin and Hange/Levi get lots of airtime but I think these two have a healthy amount of respect for each other that'd be great to explore; anything would be great, really! Feel free to write fic set after Erwin's death when Hange's grappling with his legacy and their position as Commander.
Mikasa Ackerman/Annie Leonhart
They have such an intriguing dynamic! To me, their animosity is rooted less in jealousy over Eren and more in clashes over their creeds and worldviews. Annie revels in pageantry over her talent, considers it something she toiled to achieve, and is nearly exhibitionist about it, whereas Mikasa's more concerned with debt and protection and is quieter about it all -- she sees her skill as something not to show off -- but they still respect each other's strength even up till that inevitable betrayal.
Pre-canon, mid-canon, or post-canon explorations would all be excellent. Are there any possible ideological intersections amidst the differences between them? How do they both respond to Eren's turn towards omnicide? What paths do they pave afterwards, whether in common or separately? Do they return to common ground based on sparring, even if Annie's skills might've atrophied in the crystal (if so, feel free to explore changes in in/equality or imbalances!). Or do they nurture a frosty I'm-not-going-to-admit-my-feelings friends with benefits situation?
Pieck Finger/Annie Leonhart
The rarepair of my heart -- I'd die for anything of these two. Feel free to kick canon timelines to the curb and set up AUs where Annie never went to Paradis or returned instead of taking a crystal sabbatical.
They're both titan shifters; what about Pieck helping Annie with any side effects of being a shifter? Pieck struggles with numbness, but I imagine Annie could have problems with neck soreness, constant hand injuries, or exhaustion from overexerting her limits/not being as skilled at endurance as Pieck is.
A look at their lives as Warriors before Annie left for Paradis would be great too. Tell me about how they met, or trained, and whether Annie might've respected Pieck in her own way. They're both clear-eyed about their predicaments as Warriors, but respond differently; how might Pieck's resigned optimism bounce off Annie's cynicism and latent idealism?
An AU where Annie returns to Marley from Paradis: I'd be interested in the overhanging issue of her 13-year term. Do shifters experience any side effects as they near the end of their 13-year timeline? Does Annie allow Pieck to help her with hers, or try to hide them? I don't mind major character death, if you want to include it!
Other ideas:
- What if Pieck was the one who helped Annie learn crystallisation, thanks to her skill in endurance?
- Annie's estranged relationship with her father, Pieck talking to her about her own relationship with her father.
- Nightmares, insomnia, unspoken midnight comfort.
- Post-canon, Pieck helping Annie with post-crystal recovery, numbness, and other frustrations.
- Post-canon catch-ups, painful secrets revealed through late night talks, drinking sessions.
- Kinky ideas: sensation play, painplay (they're both regenerating supersoldiers!), finger sucking, rough post-training or sparring sex.
Pieck Finger/Yelena
Thick subtext (well, not really, but I'm putting on my wishful goggles), sniping banter and weirdly flirtatious mocking... the messy/chaotic dynamics and minefield of unsaid things between these two are ripe for some revealing excavation. Yelena becomes an egregious extremist in later chapters, and I'm totally open to Yeagerist-critical portrayals of her, or content that just avoids those later arcs. My self-indulgent take is that they were confidantes before the three-year time skip, bonding over anti-Marley sentiments and harbouring a strange, unnameable attraction to each other. Anything about their fraught history or dynamic would appeal to me!
- Divergences, shared pasts and common ground but differing futures.
- Pieck coming to Yelena after getting injured: maybe a battle gone wrong, the aftermath of an anti-titan strike; maybe she intentionally suppresses her regeneration to prove a point to Yelena about what Warriors endure? Is Pieck actually severely injured, or is it a pretext to be close to Yelena?
- Casual non-sexual intimacy, one of them falling asleep on the other's shoulder after a long day, a trying event (a difficult battle; trouble over Porco inheriting his titan; absence of news on Annie’s fate), or a near-death experience. I'd be interested in Yelena's response: does she grudgingly relent?
- Pieck's veneer of calmness cracking in response to the death of someone in the Panzer squad, reminiscence over Paradis, medical experimentation/abuse, her role in Marley's military missions, and Yelena's response.
- Spy AU where they're undercover and Pieck takes a bullet or other injury for Yelena, leading to some mad rush for Yelena to treat her before she bleeds out. Feel free to work in analogues to shifting abilities for this.
- The Locked Tomb AU, with Pieck as the cav to Yelena’s necro, and Pieck’s obligations of loyalty to Yelena being used to hurt her, etc.
- Pieck and Yelena end up assigned to the same mission together, and get trapped in something similar to those titan containment spaces at the Liberio festival while Pieck is injured -- how do they get out? Alternatively, feel free to write Yelena rescuing Pieck.
- Kinky ideas: breathplay, Yelena taking advantage of Pieck's neck sensitivity, under-negotiated kink, dubious consent, sex as a distraction from problems, 'bad guys made them do it' situations.
Pieck Finger/Hange Zoë
I find Hange’s breathless curiosity over Pieck’s shifter biology adorable, but I also love their unlikely similarities and points of convergence, the fact that these two were willing to set aside personal grievances to work together for the sake of the bigger picture. Beneath the comedy in the Rumbling chapters, I think they orbit similar valencies of seriousness and thoughtfulness about the world, as people highly dedicated to their comrades, and I’d also welcome any scenarios where that or their mutual competence(s) shine through.
Quick sidenote: I'm fine with she/her or they/them pronouns for Hange.
- In-universe documents: (failed) experiment records or excerpts of Hange's observations about the Cart Titan. What unique traits is Hange interested in? What hypotheses does Hange come up with to explain why the Cart Titan looks so different?
- An AU where Hange comes across an injured Pieck in the woods/wilderness on Paradis, and decides to bring her back to base to treat her. Bonus things: Hange's unique knowledge of titan biology coming in useful somehow, or Hange struggling with the dilemma of helping an enemy.
- Mid-Rumbling interactions set in the moments after the alliance makes it up the ship, with Hange attending to the bite wound Falco gave Pieck.
- Tentative demonstrations of trust: Hange draping their jacket around Pieck, Hange going out of their way to use their medical knowledge to patch Pieck up.
- Difficult conversations about their allies and prickly history, while Hange is treating Pieck's wounds.
- Post-canon or mid-Rumbling, Hange trying to comfort a grieving Pieck about her commander.
Ymir Fritz & Her Daughters
Saw this in the tagset and went YESS. Ymir Fritz casts a large shadow as a mythological figure in canon, but we never get to hear from her about her life, and her voice remains a notable silence in the manga. I don't have many specific thoughts but I'd love to see your take on her and her daughters: their obligations, lives growing up, the weight of tradition and legacy, being revered and feared but not actually loved or understood perhaps. Also, the cannibalism... how did her daughters feel about it all? Feel free to bring in worldbuilding around Ymir Fritz's era or combine timelines and set a fic in both historical times and 'present-day' canon ones. Perhaps an exploration of echoes and repercussions of their lives on the present day. Feel free to play with shifter memories among the Paradis and Marleyan shifters in present-day too.
Fandom-specific DNWs:
- Levi/Hange. Levi & Hange is fine.
- Unrequested M/F pairings (parents and background pairings are fine; influential M&F relationships in canon, such as Annie's mentor-mentee relationship with Eren, or Pieck and Yelena's links to Zeke, are fine)
Squid Game
Jiyeong/Kang Saebyeok
I love Jiyeong and Saebyeok's contrasts and knife-twisting commonalities, revealed so subtly during their game of marbles. Jiyeong comes off cocky/boisterous next to the more subdued and distrustful Saebyeok, but her devil-may-care facade hides someone who's been thoroughly failed by the system, just like Saebyeok. I'm sorely invested in the way they managed to get across new perspectives to each other on their situations, under the constraints of such a cruel game -- essentially, how they changed each other's worldviews. I'm open to AUs where only one survives, where the lasting impact of the other person is explored.
Some ideas: Saebyeok gets injured (e.g., from a brawl, tussle, or other sticky situation), maybe on her hands, and then has to be tended to by Jiyeong (at home, or elsewhere). Saebyeok is driven by the deep fear of vulnerability or becoming indebted to others -- a completely justified survival mechanism in her situation -- but how does she grapple with this when injured? Does Jiyeong perhaps also try to communicate (through the comfort) that vulnerability isn’t a flaw and won’t lead to her being taken advantage of?
More broadly, Jiyeong and Saebyeok are the definition of "earn your happy ending", so I'd be down for fics exploring their post-canon road to recovery.
- Jiyeong introducing Saebyeok to more wonders of media or pop culture. (Has she heard of K-Pop? Does Jiyeong find her a band she likes?)
- Post-canon, Jiyeong or Saebyeok dealing with nightmares and the lingering effects of the games, and comforting each other in the night or otherwise.
- Meetings with Kang Cheol, Saebyeok's brother; a picnic with him, or some kind of treat with him.
- How they deal with and try to bring closure to other contestants' deaths.
- For a lighter scenario: comfort via cooking for each other; nobody came for Jiyeong when she left prison, which I imagine might privately be a big deal (since it's a South Korean tradition for family members to bring tofu to someone leaving prison) -- might Saebyeok make some halting but earnest attempt to reassure her about that?
- If you'd rather write something set during the games themselves: tense, late night introspective conversations! Secrets revealed to each other in the fold of darkness, after any of the rounds. Jiyeong patching up her injuries (somehow!), after her near-brush with death during Deoksu’s attacks. Or an AU where the marbles game was averted but the overall Squid Game continued, where Jiyeong finds Saebyeok after the round in the toilets and they have impulsive, charged "we almost died" makeouts? Or something!
Jiyeong's probablymy favourite character in this show; I love how she has a hidden streak of kindness despite her outward cynical shell, and despite all the cruelty the world has flung at her. I love her wit and candour and humour too, her capacities for tenderness that comes from the informed place of experience.
- Character studies, backstories, meditations on freeing yourself of abusive family... I'm down for it all.
- I've entertained the thought that Jiyeong might enjoy (or rather, find personal relevance in) the film Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. Bouncing off this: tell me about her favourite western films, literally Western-genre or not, or beloved pieces of media.
- How did she come to join the games? Was it a spur of the moment decision? I felt deeply for her when she implied she had nowhere to go.
- If she survives, does she meet Saebyeok's brother? How might they both get closure?
- Jiyeong finding support after the games somehow, perhaps in an old teacher; little steps she takes to reassume control of her life. (On that note: you don't have to explain the world state, who lives and who dies, etc. to me if you want to write a fix-it!)
Fandom-specific DNW(s)/clarifications:
- North Americanised settings.
- Canon-typical references to Jiyeong's past sexual abuse are fine, though I'd be grateful if you avoid dwelling on the specific details.
The Locked Tomb Series
Harrowhark Nonagesimus/Ianthe Tridentarius
Harrow and Ianthe share such a delicious tension, and I'd be overjoyed to see anything showcasing their complicated dynamic; they have their capacities for prickly -- but genuine! -- kindness with each other, and I'd welcome moments exploring those slippery threads of care and distance, neither tender nor cruel; the revelation that they're perhaps sometimes just two [Mercymorn voice] children fumbling in the dark of a hostile situation together. Or go full darkness (death or Ianthe dubconning Harrow), if you like. <3
• An AU where Harrow doesn't turn away from Ianthe after the bathtub attack: "If Ianthe Tridentarius knelt beside you then, [...] you would press your diminished bloody terror into her. You would crawl like a worm to whatever clinging scrap of solace she would give you.”
• Bed-sharing moments on the Mithraeum, in response to Harrow’s fear over Ortus’s attacks, or other forms of trauma/hurt.
• Either of them trying to cook for each other, with disastrous results.
• Harrow's notes state that Ianthe cries herself to sleep every night. I'd love to read about Harrow discovering this, in a hurt with dubious comfort or hurt no comfort scenario.
• Necromancy used for romantic, sexual, or comforting purposes, such as: breathplay via squeezing on the veins or aorta, slowing each other's heartbeats, etc.
• An AU where Ianthe still experiences issues adapting to her bone arm (pain, soreness, loss of control) after the subtextual bone arm sex scene bone arm transplant and Harrow has to step in to attend to her.
• A far-future AU where both are matured lyctors, Harrow never remembers Gideon, and they've settled more into their roles, where they might have unique hurt/comfort rituals after battles or difficult planet missions. (Sorry, for the record, I love Gideon! Feel free to slip in hints that she's still hanging around, somehow.)
• Harrow and Ianthe comforting each other through homesickness (planet-sickness?): giving each other House artefacts/mementos, or recounting childhood memories and stories to each other. Or: kinking on House titles during comfort sex.
Camilla Hect/Palamedes Sextus
I have to admit it, that indirect hand kiss in the Nona the Ninth previews charmed me. But even before then, these two have had a freight tank's worth of loyalty kink packed into them. I haven't had time to come up with good prompts, but tell me about their relationship: Camilla's grief and devotion, bodysharing shenanigans, a perfect lyctorhood AU, life on that BoE planet in Nona the Ninth. Or mundane moments on Planet Academia where they might've trained, shared rooms, etc. More hand kisses, understated promises, their steadfast rapport. Casual physical intimacy; them figuring out the logistics of bodysharing sex; fragments of conversations recorded through tape, all the ways they try to maintain and carry across physical intimacy when they're always missing each other by seconds. Cyberpunk or noir AUs? Or anything you'd love to write about/create; I'm chill. <3
Coronabeth Tridentarius/Ianthe Tridentarius
Codependency, that messed up moment your sister didn't choose you to cannibalise, spinning out the aftermath of "Babs? Who cares about Babs?" and so on. I've read As Yet Unsent so feel free to work in the reveal of Coronabeth's hidden neediness, or all the ways she's the worse twin. I'm down for anything about their twisted dynamic. Some ideas: Ianthe being subtly jealous of Coronabeth's affection for other cavaliers (Gideon, Judith, et al.), an AU where Coronabeth does get to be Ianthe's cavalier, an AU where Coronabeth doesn't betray BoE and sticks to her guns and they remain bitter enemies in an inter-galactic conflict...
Kinky ideas, if you swing that way: power plays in bed, praise kinks, Coronabeth trying to shower Ianthe with all the attention she isn't getting, knifeplay as a demonstration of Coronabeth's worthiness of cavalierhood. Whiffs of necrophilia and body horror (in the form of intentional mutilation, Ianthe mocking Corona with all the ropes of what she can do as a Lyctor) while Ianthe is in Babs's body. I'm fine if you want to go AU and write/draw a missing scene where Ianthe is in her own body instead of Babs's.
• Coronabeth letting Ianthe practise small doses of cannibalism or animaphalia on her.
• Ianthe and Coronabeth performing Third House marriage/scarification vows and rituals secretly with themselves.
• Ianthe gets arranged to marry another necromancer (Harrow, perhaps). Coronabeth gets jealous.
• A 5+1 times style study of (twisted) birthdays they've celebrated over the years. Creepy or messed up variants of their "fuck, kill, reanimate" games. Or various times Coronabeth's been mistaken for Ianthe's partner/girlfriend, and vice versa.
• A look at Third House rituals they've done, from the bizarre to ostentatious to downright weird; ritual sex even, where they've been asked to consummate their bond or mark the anniversary of their House's founding (or something...) in front of their peers, parents, anything.
• Alternatively, the Ninth House is obsessed with preservation and entombment, the veiling away of the past; what if the Third House is obsessed with gaudy opulence and the appearance of liveliness even in death? I'm thinking Ianthe having to use flesh magic to build/add on to corpses and a young Coronabeth trying to help her.
• Unexpectedly tender first-time sex with each other.
Pyrrha Dve & Camilla Hect & Palamedes Sextus
The Nona family won my heart, even if they may be a mess of psychosexual roleplaying and codependence according to Tazmuir, and I'd love to just get more -- comedy, other poignant after-school conversations, Pyrrha dancing with Nona, Nona having hilarious conversations about marrying Pyrrha in general. I'd also love hurt/comfort with Pyrrha patching Camilla up after an injury (augh), and so on. Feel free to lean into unhealthy levels of codependency or feature Pyrrha/Camilla and Camilla/Pal. I'm cool with background canon pairings like Pyrrha/Gideon the First, Pyrrha/Wake, and so on too.
Mercymorn the First/Cristabel Oct
Grief, tragedy, not being able to let go of your cavalier after 10,000 years -- these two hit all my buttons. We've gotten new looks at their pre-Resurrection lives in Nona, and I'd love to see something exploring any other dimensions to their relationship hinted or added by those snippets (Cristabel sure sounds like a badass nun, huh).
Other ideas: letters written by Cristabel to Mercymorn, expressions of grief via hanahaki or body horror, etc.
Fandom-specific DNWs/clarifications:
- I waive my unrequested M/F sex DNW for Camilla/Palamedes.
- Per my bugs DNW: describing the Resurrection Beasts and Heralds is fine.
The Sandman (TV 2022)
Servants of Dream with such different paths but similar temperaments—what things do they share in common? What can they share, before, during, or after the revival of Dream’s realm? I don’t have many specific thoughts but please feel free to write what intrigues you about them! No preference for gender or pronouns here; I’d just prefer both not be written as cisgendered men.
Both are such spiky and attractive characters; this is a crack pairing but also, I’m in love with Lucifer’s cool poise and refinement and authority, and on the total opposite end, Johanna’s in-your-face thumbs-down attitude towards authority. Obviously they’re meant to be! Feel free to write these two butting heads or having to team up or dark steamy sex (how would Johanna feel about bedding the Lord of Hell?).
Warrior Nun
Character: Mother Superion
Loved the look at her backstory and her relationship with the OCS nuns and I’d love more! Anything about her would be great.
Character: Sister Lilith
Sister Lilith got SO COOL in Season 2 but I love the poetic irony of her turning to the dark side after coming from a family known for its Warrior Nun successors. As a lover of monstrous women I love her transformation too, how ambiguous it was—was it liberation, desperation after conforming to family expectations, or just a new set of chains? I’m indifferent to her relationship with Adriel, to be honest, but I’m fine if you want to mention it. Most of all I’d be intrigued by explorations of her life, her ties to her sisters, and her fraught relationship with her mother, the weight of tradition/legacy.
Ava Silva/Sister Beatrice
Them! Seasons 2 left a hole in my heart and I’d be thrilled to see post-canon looks at them. Does Ava return some day? How does Sister Beatrice keep the faith in her absence? My heart goes out to Beatrice over the whole “queer girl pressured to exceed expectations” background too. Explorations of newfound kinds of faith or their growing closeness would all be great.
Sister Lilith/Shotgun Mary
Mary and Lilith are arguably two of my favourite characters, so naturally I’d love to pair them together! Sparring, both of them challenging each other or keeping the other accountable, people who you have complex relationships with but know will always have your back—I’d love to see it all! I adore Lilith’s monstrous transformation and would be thrilled by a fix-it or canon-divergent AU where Mary lives and perhaps she witnesses Lilith’s changes. Monsterfucking sex would be welcome if you want, though it isn’t necessary; the weirdness and body horror and xeno potential with Lilith’s changes were SO appealing to me. Mary’s loyal to but seen as an outsider to some extent in the Order and later Lilith becomes the same; what commonalities or clashes can they exchange?
Wednesday (TV 2022)
Morticia Addams/Larissa Weems
Adore their hints of history. Pre-canon looks at their roommate days or post-canon fix-its with reconciliations? Larissa as a secret lacrosse/[insert normie sport] jock in her Nevermore days? Canon-divergent AUs where they dated at Nevermore? A casefic of them exploring magical secrets at Nevermore and in the world? Getting together fic with worldbuilding about their paths after graduating? Larissa somehow ends up officiating a marriage or renewing Morticia's and Gomez's vows and then gets pulled into marrying Morticia too? Romantic funeral sex? Morticia managing to ruffle Larissa under her put-together veneer? Go wild!
I like Gomez; I'm fine with open marriage scenarios. I haven't thought about Morticia/Larissa/Gomez but I feel like I could be convinced.
Fandom-specific DNWs/clarifications:
Prominent focus on child-rearing or childcare; Morticia's children are fine to feature and write interactions about, I'd just prefer not to receive fic focusing solely on Morticia as a parent.
Yellowjackets (TV)
I'm keeping up with Season 2, so feel free to pull in all the lore you want; I'll be up to date! Ambiguous endings and ghostly or haunting-related mindfucks are very welcome. Background canon pairings like Shauna/Jeff or Simone/Taissa are fine.
It’d be a stretch to say the show is that attentive to concerns like these, but I’m open to critical explorations or subversions of the way the show handles concepts like the ‘wilderness’, and ideas about ‘civilization’ and ‘primitiveness’, including if you want to push back on any of them. I think there’s potential to interrogate notions of “girlhood”, who we ascribe girlhood to, and the violence therein of its middle class manifestations beyond what the show does; if you want, feel free to go there.
I don’t have a lot of specific ideas but I’d love to see your takes! I’m cool with AUs where a different set of people get eaten or die and the other characters have to live with the consequences or hauntings (non-human, metaphorical, or not).
Character: Taissa
Taissa’s so interesting—she’s strong-willed in the wilderness, a pragmatist, and yet as a would-be politician she’s known for staying true to her ideals and not misrepresenting herself. Even though she’s the one most fearful of her unconscious, the self she becomes when sleepwalking. What changed before and after the crash? Where do her hallucinations, hauntings, dreams, etc. come from? I’d love any explorations of her character, really.
Shauna Shipman/Taissa Turner
In the wilderness where ties rapidly change, these two seem to get along really well and get each other—and that continues afterwards into their adult lives. They’re a pair of unlikely commonality: Taissa’s ambitious, Shauna’s soft-spoken and reserved, both have hidden depths of talent and smartness (that conversation about what Shauna would have done in Brown! What Taissa did at Howard!) Down for anything about the relationship!
Misty Quigley & Natalie Scatorccio & Shauna Shipman & Taissa Turner
THEM. The psychological haunting squad! What did they bring from the wilderness and what did they leave behind? What violences do they carry, within themselves or without? What about the complicated aftermath, and the mythology of who they were before (soccer team) clashing with their selves in the wild? No need to feature all four in detail; I’d be happy with a focus on any two people in this quadruple pairing. Feel free to feature Lottie too — she wasn’t nominated in this but I’m curious about her.
Misty Quigley/Natalie ScatorccioYOUR HONOUR, I love them. They're terrible for each other in all the perfectly good ways. Misty is such a failgirl and delightfully morbid, and I love how she and Natalie can't quite avoid each other despite their best wishes. To me, they're disasters waiting to be sprung. Feel free to take this in all the creepy, disturbing, erotically gory or cannibalistic places you want or explore what compels you about them. Some (super) optional ideas:
- Tie-ins or explorations of Misty's backstory; early interactions between Misty and Natalie.
- Unconventional or downright strange getting together fic for them.
- Serial killer or time-loop AUs, where Natalie and Misty are trapped together in claustrophobic situations that nobody else shares with them (and maybe drive each other crazy, or are drawn involuntarily towards each other because they have no other choice).
- Road-trips but much further out this time, with them trying to escape all the messiness of the Yellowjackets team or the haunting effects of the wilderness, and them not quite succeeding, perhaps? This goes double for these two: ambiguous or surreal endings are welcome.
- Accidental (or not) drugging of each other. I'm horrified and fascinated by Misty's use of poisoning as a way to lure people into dependence on her and then eventually as a weapon in adulthood. I think Natalie would find ways to escape because she's savvy, but what about a 5+1 times fic about times Misty tried to poison Natalie, literally or metaphorically?
Fandom-specific DNWs/clarifications:
Per my bugs DNW: canon-typical references to or mentions of bugs, maggots, etc. are fine, including for survival realism, as long you avoid detailed descriptions.
